The Boston Herald on “King of the Fools”

Boston’s super soul (funk? rock?) band The Curtis Mayflower have flipped the script on The Temptations’ “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg.”

The band’s new single — “King of the Fools” — inverts the hot, fast pleading of the Temps Motown might with a chill, slow groove. Go if you wanna go, I ain’t begging. I’ll just sit here with my Donny Hathaway records and stand firm.
